Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, and its fabulous price controls on prescription drugs for Medicare, the pharmaceutical company that has provided my monthly migraine medication for $0 out-of-pocket since 2020 has dramatically curtailed the program and now my medication costs $413 per month.
The same thing happened with the Durbin Amendment in Dodd-Frank when the government wisely decided to cap fees on debit card transactions and every bank immediately discontinued debit card rewards.
Why is it whenever the government tries to “save” me money, it always costs me more?
